Pirates Online Beta — Phase Two!

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Once again, we are in beta testing mode for our little Pirates game. If you were in beta 1, you should have just received an email inviting you back. If you were in beta 1 and did not get the email, you’re still invited, something just happened to the email. In either event, your login and password from beta 1 will get you back in the game. If you were not in beta 1 and would like to be in beta 2, just let me know and I’ll see if I can get you hooked up with a beta key.

Remember that guy who was arrested outside a Circuit City a few weeks ago? I blogged about it at the time. Well, there seems to be some sort of resolution to the story. Check it out.

Came across this little trick on Boing Boing: How to get 32 AA batteries from a single 6 volt lantern battery. I may have to try this some time!

As the Wheel Turns…

I was saddened to read on the internet tonight that fantasy author, Robert Jordan, died earlier today. He is best remembered for his “Wheel of Time” series of books, which are some of my favorites. He has told others how the last book is to end and written up copious notes and outlines, so word is that it will be published posthumously.

The most dramatic, high-energy video of how to tie a tie you’ll see all day. Make sure you have sound turned on.

Remember audio tapes, a.k.a. audio cassettes? Let’s say you had a blank tape and you wanted to record something to it You had to manually line up the little clear leader bit of tape by turning the little wheel thingies with a pencil or something so that you didn’t miss the first part of what you were recording. What was up with that? You don’t have to do that with video tapes, so why audio cassettes?

I feel much better for having got that off my chest.
