Mom’s Where Now?

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

I got an email this morning from mom, who successfully made it to Israel with grandpa. She is “staying in a beautiful hotel in Tiberius on the Sea of Galilee.” Sounds like a wonderful trip so far, and I’ll post updates here as pertinent, since mom doesn’t have her own blog.

Dinosaurs are Awesome

When was the last time you had a fun discussion on dinosaurs? This guy is great:

Aaaaaand, we’re back!

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

So yeah, Thanksgiving holidays have more-or-less concluded at this point. Megs and I are back home at our apartment and all is well. We had a nice time up in the mountains with family and down in Long Beach with more family. Today Megs and I went with Chris “Ozzzy” to the Oregon/UCLA game down at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. We lost. Bad. Very sad.

Moving on…

This evening Jacques came over and and the four of us (brother Matt is still here) went out to our local watering hole for some good times. After returning home, Jacques stole Matt back to his place, from which Matt will be departing home tomorrow morning. Tomorrow Megs will study and I will do nothing of consequence. Megs has finals coming up in a little more than a week, so best wishes to her.

Pictures from Thanksgiving are here.

Up in Crestline Again

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Happy belated Thanksgiving, everyone! Yesterday was a wonderful day of family and food, as is tradition. First off, Matt “donut” arrived late Tuesday night and he’s been with Megs and me since. On Thursday we drove down to Long Beach for lunch with the Brunner grandparents, which was excellent. This was followed up with dinner at mom’s house, which was also excellent. Jacques’ plans for Thanksgiving fell through, so he came up the mountains and joined us for dinner. After dinner we watched a couple of the old Jeremy Brett episodes of Sherlock Holmes. Good times.

It is now the next morning and the Gallagher Grandparents are soon to arrive. We will have yet another dinner tonight! So much food! Anyways, all is well and since mom finally has high-speed Internet access, that makes my day much better already. 🙂

The Pics Are Back!

Holy crap, I finally got my pictures back up on the site! It’s amazing! I’m using Google’s Picasa software and web hosting, so check out the link below to see all the old crappy pictures of my car, my cat, and myself. 🙂

Blah. So Normal.

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Lately, nothing terribly exciting has been going on, which is just fine with me. Had enough business for a while, so it’s nice to have a calm before the holiday storm, as it were.

Last Saturday I drove up the mountains to visit mom and help her with her computer. Always nice to visit Crestline and next time I hope Megs can come, too. She’s been deep in studies as finals are approaching fast, but we’ll have plenty of time to visit with family for Thanksgiving and then Christmas.

Saturday night Matt C., Anna, Jacques and Other Megan all came by to help us break in our new Nintendo Wii. A fun little console and our first of the so-called “next gen” systems, the others being the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. Anyways, if you also have a Wii, let me know and I’ll send you our system’s “friend code” so our Mii’s can mingle or something.

That’s really all I got for the moment. Hope all is well with you guys.

Much Better

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

I slept much better last night, in case anyone was curious. Was actually in bed and reading by 23:15, which as most of you know is damn early for me. I think I was asleep close to 01:00 or so. Was nearly wide awake at 07:15 or so, so by 08:00 I decided to just get up. I took a quick walk around the local park and came back by way of the new Starbucks down on Tujunga & Camarillo. Made it to work before 10:00 and got some strange looks from my co-workers for being so early.

I realize that I just alienated/angered a large number of you by saying that 10:00 is early. Such is the life of a Programmer. I assure you, I’m not the only one; if you’re in our office before 10:00, there’s maybe half a dozen other devs around, that’s it.

Anyways, things are going well. I just found out last night that the Company is offering us an additional holiday per year from now on! We finally get the day after Thanksgiving off automatically, which is just as well. Most folks took it off as a vacation day anyways, so those of us who came into work couldn’t get much done without our co-workers around.

That is all.

Bad Night

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

Last night was kinda sucky. Don’t know why, but I was just extra anxious for no good reason. Maybe it was the crappy burrito I had for right before dinner, and maybe it was because I kinda missed lunch and snacked on candy most of the day. And I could swear I was smelling breakfast cooking as I was trying to fall asleep. Like bacon and pancakes and stuff. Made me wonder if I had a brain tumor or something–I hear you smell weird things before your brain explodes–so this didn’t help any. My mind tends to wander to bad places when left to its own devices. Anyways, it sucked but I’m OK now. I’m trying some new things now, so maybe that’ll help.

In other news my brother, Matt “donut” Brunner, is coming down to visit for the Thanksgiving holidays, so that should be good times. Let’s hope that his ride doesn’t blow out more tires than his last ride down here did.

Our game, Pirates of the Caribbean Online launched last week. We’re showing good numbers so far, so ‘yay’ and go us! You can try it and play for free, so please do! No more beta keys required.

Lastly, I’ve just received word that mom has unpacked the last of the boxes in her new home here in California. Did I mention she moved here? I think I did, but if I did not… mom moved! She lives up in the mountains near here. So ‘yay’ there too.

Guess that’s enough for today.

Just wait for it…

Feel like a little online shopping? Check this place out. Trust me.

Update: I’ve heard reports that this fun little page is not behaving itself for some people. It’s a gag site. Refresh the page if it’s not entertaining you within 5-10 seconds.
