Job, House, Dog, and Baby

Tuesday, June 24th, 2014

So, as I alluded to in my last post, things they have been a-happenin’! Quick timeline: Beginning of February 2013 Megs gets a lawyer job at a small firm in Azusa doing family law. Family law sucks, but it’s a job and a start. Shortly after that we move to a rental house in Pasadena because it’s nice and it’s closer to her work and about the same distance from mine. It’s a nice little 3 bedroom 2-story built in the 50’s. In June 2013 we get a little corgi-shepherd mix named Maverick. He’s super-cute and orange. August 2013 I get Megs all knocked-up and we start the clock–nine months and counting! Time passes and last May 15th we had a little girl named Samantha Alice Brunner! She was 5 lbs., 1.5 oz., a tiny thing! She’s growing fast and on Thursday she’ll already be 6 weeks old and probably over 8 lbs.

Stuff Has Been Happening

Monday, June 23rd, 2014

So a few things have happened in my life since I last posted here. The four biggest are: Megs got her first lawyer job, we moved to a rental house in Pasadena, we got a dog, and we had a baby! The latter is why I’m posting here at 4:25 a.m. She’s being fussy next to me in a cradle as I try to write this. But I get ahead of myself…

Megan Passed The California Bar Exam!

Tuesday, November 20th, 2012

The title says it all, but I’ll repeat here because it’s awesome: Megan passed the California Bar Exam!!! Some proof:

Screenshot of Megs on the pass list

I took this the night the results came back to send to Megs as proof that she had indeed passed the Bar Exam.

I’m so proud of my wife! I knew she could do it!

I went to a wedding

Tuesday, July 24th, 2012

I went to the wedding of my good friends Chris Gilmer and Megan Marsh last weekend! I posted pictures over on Google+, so check me out there if you wanna see.

I drove up to Sacramento for the event by myself, because Megan had to stay home to study. Today is Day One of the California State Bar Exam! Three grueling days of testing: today, tomorrow, and Thursday. They really don’t want any more lawyers here in California, but we’re going to convince them otherwise!

Birthdays and cars, oh my!

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Holy crap, I’m 30 now! I can’t believe I started this silly blog thing when I was 19 and I’ve been keeping it up all this time. More than TEN YEARS for ol’ ChrisWeb here! Sheesh! You’d think I’d take better care of it then. Speaking of things that happened over 10 years ago, remember that Daytona of mine? My blue car? Yeah, so I finally got a new one:

Click for more pictures. Call it an early mid-life crisis (you wouldn’t be the first), but as I am now actually driving to work, I needed something more reliable (i.e. from this century), so I figured I may as well get something a little nicer and fun. Also, CONVERTIBLE! 😀

For my birthday this year, I dragged all my friends out to the woods to go camping in February. Here’s the proof:

Chris' 30th Birthday (Camping)

We all had a good time (or so I’m told), and it didn’t get below freezing over night, so that’s good. We were up north of Santa Barbara in the San Padres Nation Forest at a place called Paradise Campground. It was nice and we had a respectable campfire. Thanks to Megs, Donut, Kim, Ozzzy, Anna, Matt, Gilmer, Megan, Kyle, Jacques, Hanh, and Asha for coming out! You guys are the best!

Work is still going great, but of course I can’t tell you any details. Just know that it’s challenging me in ways I haven’t been challenged in a good while. I’m certainly keeping busy!

Stuff is Happening

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

So, there’s like stuff going on, but I can’t really say much about it right now. I’d hope to be able to write more sooner, but these things take time. Expect bigger news here in the weeks to come.

In other, less mysterious news, Matt’s visiting for Christmas, which we are HOSTING this year at our apartment! On Christmas Eve mom and Kim will be joining us and staying the night in our living room. Christmas morning, Grandma and Grandpa Gallagher will be driving up and we’ll do the whole gift giving and big meal thing. Boxing Day (the day after Christmas), Matt, Kim, Megs and I will be driving down to Long Beach to visit with a whole lotta Brunners. I think it’ll be Grandma & Grandpa Brunner, plus ALL their descendants & families; minus dad who’ll be in Eugene, but that’s OK cuz we saw him yesterday for mini-Christmas (dad-related gift-giving only.) Dad gave me a really slick remote control that will control everything in our living room, which if you’ve ever seen our living room, is quite a feat. He also gave me and Megan Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii, which I have yet to try out, but am looking forward to quite a lot.

That’s it for now. As I alluded to earlier, there’s more news, which I hope to be able to share soon!

PS: No, it’s not baby-related. 😛

Rocktoberfest VIII and w00tstock 2.6

Sunday, October 31st, 2010

First off, HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!! OK, now that that’s out of the way, let’s see what Chris has been up to lately.

Last Wednesday was the variety nerd-fest w00stock 2.6, and it was a hell of a lotta fun! I took pictures and posted them here:

Last weekend was Rocktoberfest VIII, which is basically an epic house party celebrating rock music, BBQ, beer, and good friends. Started with Matt C. and a few friends in Eugene eight years ago, and has continued annually ever since. This year, the gathering was held at Badier’s house up in SF. I took some pictures, but will NOT be posting them here. 🙂 Had to be there, sorry.

In other news, we’ve had a few house guests over the last month or so: Badier, Kelly, Kim, Annie, and Matt B. The ever-popular Hotel Brunner, North Hollywood! Great seeing folks.

Yesterday was Megs’ birthday, and we saw the movie “RED” and then went to a nice Japanese restaurant overlooking Hollywood. Very nice!

Tonight we’re planning on watching some Halloween-themed movies with friends. Good times.

Portland Weddings

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Got back from vacation earlier this week and I just now got all my photos uploaded. Got four sets, the first is general stuff taken with my iPhone:

Next is Matt’s bachelor party, which was held at a rented house in Lincoln Beach, OR right on the coast. We drank beer, BBQ’d meat, and stayed up way past our bedtimes. Good times:

Now the main event, the reason we went up there in the first place: Matt & Anna’s wedding!

Lastly, Maomao wanted to have her “American-style” wedding while Anna’s family was still in town, so she had her wedding the next day at a lovely boutique hotel in Portland:

Whew! What a trip! Congrats, you guys! May you have long and happy lives!
